Thierry Laugel

Thierry Laugel graduated as a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharma.D) from the University of Strasbourg. He obtained a PhD in Pharmacology from Paris-Sud University and also holds an MBA from INSEAD.
Thierry began his career in 1992 as an R&D project manager for the Fournier group in Japan. In 1996, he joined Flamel Technologies where he was in charge of the development of three drugs.
In 1998, he moved into investment and worked for 7 years at the Caisse des Dépôts where he supervised a portfolio of investments in European Biotech / Healthcare companies. In 2005, he joined AGF Private Equity (Allianz Group), as Partner and Life Sciences Manager.
In 2009, he founded Kurma Partners, an investment specialized in healthcare. He continues to serves as its CEO and Managing Partner. He is also joint manager of Kurma Biofunds with direct asset investments in a dozen or so companies.
