Guillaume Dureau is a graduate of the École Polytechnique (class of 1983). He started his career in 1988 as an economist at the French National Institute of Statistics & Economic Studies (INSEE).
From 1992 to 2002, as Inspector of Finances, he worked for the French Ministry of Economy and Finance. In 2002 he began working for AREVA in the role of Vice-President in charge of strategy and internal audit for Framatome ANP, before becoming Senior Vice-President in charge of strategy and M&A for the AREVA group in 2004.
In 2006, he became Executive Vice-President in charge of the Equipment Business Unit, while also sitting on the board of ETC, a joint URENCO and AREVA subsidiary. In May 2010, he was appointed CEO of ETC.
From 2013 to 2016, Guillaume DUREAU was Senior Executive Vice-President of the Front End Business Group, then Senior Vice-President of the Back End Business Group, as well as becoming a member of the AREVA group Executive Committee. He was then appointed Senior Executive Vice-President for Customers, Strategy, Innovation and R&D (CSIR) for the group on July 1, 2016.
Since February 2019, he has been Chairman of Orano Projets SAS, Senior Executive Vice President of the Projects BU and Director of R&D and Innovation of the Orano group and supervises Orano Med's activities.
